About
To our friends and family,
Almost 8 years ago, Brandon and I served at an orphanage/mission in Vicente Guerrero, BC Mexico called Foundation For His Ministry. That year has laid an amazing foundation for our lives and our careers. Since then, Brandon and I have been teaching in public schools, and Brandon has gone through such drastic physical conditions. About 2 years we were told that the orphanage was going to be backing out of being a public school, and instead would be starting a Christian school, and would be open only to orphanage and staff kids. We began to pray about this opportunity that we felt God calling us to. God confirmed this calling through prayer, visions, and many personal confirmations!
Foundation For His Ministries is a beautiful organization that was founded in 1966 as a simple orphanage and has developed into a mission with a community outreach, school, bible college, church, school for children with disabilities, clinic, fire department and the largest macadamia nut orchard in North America!
Brandon and I are very excited that July of this year, we will be moving down to the mission for at least one complete school year. I (Lisa) will be teaching full time in the school, and hopefully will be starting a dancing worship team for the kids in the orphanage. Brandon will be teaching PE to the kids at the school as well as helping in the clinic when possible. He will be finishing his schooling online to become an osteopathic manual practitioner and is excited to bring God’s healing through this practice and bless the people with health.
Brandon and I are asking if you would pray about partnering with us and being a part of our support team. There are SO many ways that you can partner with us. The first is prayer, the second is communication, and lastly comes the area of finances. If you choose to partner financially, all financial gifts are tax deductable and checks can be made out to Little Country Church. We are needing $1,500 per month to sustain us while there. We are currently trying to sell our mobile home, from which we are planning to use the profit to help cover costs, as well as using our savings. We would ask that you would prayerfully consider supporting us in any of these ways listed.
We want to truly partner with those who feel God is calling to be part of the team that sends us. We not only want you to hear about what God is doing through this outreach but we also want to hear what God is speaking to you. We have set up a facebook page, instagram and twitter in conjunction with this blog and will be updated monthly with pictures and stories! You can subscribe to these communication tools by searching for “Winters Mexico” as a first and last name. You can also sign up for an email to be automatically sent to you every time we post.
Thank you so much for the chance to share with you about what God is doing in our lives over the next year. An undertaking of this magnitude has shown us how important the body of Christ is. Thank you for your influence and friendship in our lives. May God bless us as a team and draw us nearer to Himself as we serve Him together.
In His Service,
Brandon and Lisa Winters
