Day 3 was by far our most productive day! Not only did we feel like we received the WHOLE scope and sequence of how the program works and how amazing it is for children, but we also accomplished the most today! We recited our memory verse forward and BACKWARDS....literally!! We wrote a couple of one-page essays, completed the last two packets and took and aced 4 tests! We literally received gold stars :) The picture we took today shows how pooped we are. A job well done is tiring! Thank the Lord for his strength! Tomorrow we graduate!! Here's to the end of an excellent training week!! We cannot wait to get to the mission and be a part of training our future generations!
Well day 2 was very successful and productive! We earned our "E" privilege by passing our first test, reciting our memory verse and writing a one page essay! The privilege allows us to get up without asking to score our work, work past checkups without signatures and have 5 extra minutes for break! On top of that we completed and turned in two more PACEs ( HUGE fill-in-the-blanks packets). We are drained but proud of all the hard work and we are excited to implement these principles along with a twist of our own style for our respective subjects! God is good and he is preparing our hearts and minds for this GREAT ADVENTURE!!
Memory verse: Deuteronomy 6:4-9 4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Today was our first day of A.C.E. training in Fontana CA for the program we will be using at the school in Mexico! It was very long and very hard but we are learning so much. We have a huge homework load but look forward to implementing all the Godly principles and values that this program provides and teaches.
Fun story: The training requires you to go through lesson packets as if you were a student, abiding by all rules that they would have to abide by (so as to understand the rules and remember them). A part of the program doesn't allow you to work past check points without a supervisor's signature...well they provided a way for us to earn the privilege of not needing the supervisors signature but it will take 2 days to do it....so if all is well we will have that privilege and be able to finish everything tomorrow night for homework. So during a break Brandon and I secretly devised a plan to work around that and do all the work tonight on blank paper...I was so serious when telling Brandon how we were going to accomplish this devious task to get it done early when suddenly he just busted up laughing that cheating at a Christian educator's conference was even a genuine topic of discussion. We couldn't enter the learning center because we were laughing so hard and there is "no talking" in the learning center. Lol we are bad rule followers...not to mention we came late for practically every session and earned what they call demerits lol. Hopefully we get the hang of this soon! Hello Mexico Mission supporters! We want to take some time to thank you all so much for choosing to be a part of our team whether financially, prayerfully or as an encourager!! We are so busy packing up and gearing up for our departure!!! We will be leaving Redding on the 24th to head to socal for a 4 day training for the program that the school will be using. Then we will be headed down.
Right now we are asking for prayer for our visas that we need before we cross. We have been to sacramento twice and haven't had the right paperwork BOTH times. So we are praying we get the right paperwork before we leave redding so we can get our visas on the way down. Stay tuned for weekly updates and pictures!! We can't wait to share the journey every step of the way! |
